During a recent interview, Apostolos Tsitsipas, the Greek athlete Stefanos Tsitsipas’ father and coach spoke about his son and related topics, of which one was his issue with Stefanos not smiling more.
In one of the episodes of the ATP Tennis Radio podcast, Apostolos shared his take on his Stefanos’ life, on topics such as his hobbies, choices and so on.
Coach Apostolos talked how Stefanos Tsitsipas has been influencing the younger generation of Greek athletes and all over the world. At this moment, the interviewer Jill Craybas added on to the conversation saying how she saw kids who waited for the 23 year old player to smile and wave at them.
Responding to this, Senior Tsitsipas stated- “I think when he is smiling, it’s all perfect. You know, I would like him to smile more. Maybe this is the only thing.”
Not only opened up about the concern he had, but also continued to chat about Stefanos Tsitsipas’ success and his inspiration made a lot more parents and children take the game of tennis seriously.
Furthermore, Coach Apostolos spoke regarding the family relations, with Stefanos. He also mentioned that he trusts his son to make the right choices all the time. He went on to add that he would be there for the Greek athlete and support him always, either by being his coach or father.
Stefanos last played at the Australian Open 2022, where he gave a remarkable performances in his matches. Despite his performance, he was mostly noted for getting multiple warnings for code violations. The 23 year old was warned as his father and coach Apostolos Tsitsipas constantly coached the player on court, during the on- going match.
Stefanos Tsitsipas to take part in the upcoming Rotterdam Open
The Greek tennis pro had a relatively short run at the first Grand Slam of this year. But, Stefanos is all set to compete for the forthcoming ABN Amro World Tennis Tournament. This hard court title will commence from the 7th of February.
A recent update about the list of seeds indicates Tsitsipas to be the top seed of the ATP 500 tournament.
The 23 year old will look forward to claim the Rotterdam Open title after a quarterfinal exit at the Australian Open 2022.
