Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios makes headlines very often. Usually, it is for his temperamental nature. This time, however, he made headlines again when he returned to Australia after his trip to Vegas. Kyrgios arrived at the Sydney airport and was captured kissing his girlfriend, Costeen Hatzi.
The tennis star has been away from tennis for almost over a year now. In 2023, Kyrgios played just one match, at the Stuttgart Open, where Wu Yibing defeated him. A series of unfortunate injuries have kept him from returning to the tennis court. Nick recently announced that he was not fit enough to play at the Australian Open next year.
While Kyrgios has been away from the sport, he is getting to spend quality time with Hatzi. The duo was in Vegas recently, but their little intimate moment at the airport has caught the fancy of netizens. Costeen‘s mother, Mary Hatzi, was at the airport to warmly welcome them back. She wrapped them in an embrace before leading them out.
This comes in the wake of Nick’s own admission that he feels more respected in the US than he does in Australia. “I feel more respected here [in the US]. Australians don’t expect athletes to do anything else but play their sport, which is really weird,” he confessed (via The Daily Mail).
While Kyrgios has not played a match in almost a year, he has not stepped away from the sport completely. He made his commentary debut at the Nitto ATP Finals and will continue in that role at the Australian Open.

Costeen Hatzi and Nick Kyrgios met online, have been going strong ever since, and genuinely seem to be in love. Kyrgios will be seen as a commentator at the first Grand Slam of 2024.
