With a defeat in the semi-finals, Novak Djokovic’s dream of Olympic gold has shattered into pieces. Novak Djokovic faced Germany’s Alexander Zverev. The 4th seed player emerged victorious over the Serbian.
The final scoreline of the match was 6-1, 3-6, 1-6. Even though the Serbian won the first set quite easily within 37 minutes, he struggled to score points against the German in the next two sets. The 4th seed player took advantage and won the match.
The match was headed on by Spainsh referee CAMPISTOL MAS Jaume. The match lasted about two hours with both the players unwilling to lose in the match.
Alexander Zverev has now sealed his spot into the finals. Novak Djokovic will now play for a bronze medal against Spain’s Pablo Busta Carreno.
