Iga Swiatek has been an inspiration to players around the tour. Andy Murray recently expressed his wish to play mixed doubles with her. Swiatek was happy when she heard about Murray’s wish; both players have a strong fighting spirit. The world No.1 also spoke about how she learned from the rivalry between Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz.

The ATP tour has had epic rivalries since the start of the sport. Few players have managed to sustain their consistency with multiple players. Novak Djokovic has been known for his rivalries against Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Murray. The 36-year-old has had legendary matches against Stan Wawrinka, too, and is now fighting it against Carlos Alcaraz. Swiatek has been a fan of the latest rivalry.
Swiatek spoke about how both the players never give up on the court against each other. She said that their matches are intense from the start to the end. The Polish player had played soccer tennis alongside Alacaraz a few days ago before the matches began and even exchanged a chest bump with the Spaniard. Both players enjoyed each other’s company on the court at the US Open.

Iga and Alcaraz are the defending champions at this year’s US Open. While Alcaraz and Djokovic are chasing history, Swiatek also aims to break the curse at the event. She will try to become the first woman to defend her US Open title since Serena Williams in 2014. The event has always produced champions with a solid battling spirit, and Swiatek has already proved that last year.
