Roger Federer established the Roger Federer Foundation with the aim of helping disadvantaged kids get better and easy access to deserved education and sports.
Established in 2004 the foundation is able to shape a bright future for underprivileged children. They principally support the educational projects in the region of southern Africa and Switzerland. Presently the organisation takes care of 1,980,000 kids.
The foundation is in the African countries namely Botswana, Zambia, Namibia, Malawi, Zimbabwe, and South Africa. In Europe, it’s based in Switzerland. According to their website, the Roger Federer Foundation enhances a world where children living in poverty are able to take control of their future and actively shape it.
Education helps in reducing poverty, improving preventive healthcare, create a better standard of living and creating a committed civil society.
The foundation is a professional grant foundation which commits to the rules of the Swiss Foundation Code. The organisation strictly follows a system of checks and balances and an efficient project management cycle. Transparency, measurability and evaluation of the activities are fundamental for the organisation.

The Roger Federer Foundation helps underprivileged children who live in poverty. When asked about his greatest achievement, Roger Federer named his foundation. He said, “I’m very proud of my foundation that’s been running for 15 years. And we’ve had an impact on one million children. Giving them a better quality of education.”
Roger’s ten year long deal with Credit Suisse has benefitted his Foundation as well. The brand has promised to make an annual contribution to the charity in order to help the disadvantaged African kids.
The CEO of the Roger Federer Foundation, Janine Handel said, “There was no other possibility than achieving this goal because Roger always achieves his goals.”
She added, “There are one million children who benefit from the major quality of education in the school, pre-school, kindergarten. One million children have now a better chance to make their way in life. To get a job, to exit from poverty.”
Being a philanthropist, Roger Federer had been helping people all around the globe. From paying personal visits to the kids who have benefitted from his outreach to auctioning his racquet from the US Open Championship in order to help the victims affected by Hurricane Katrina, Roger has been involved in many other social programs benefitting the needy and the poor.

Federer made a visit to Tamil Nadu, India in 2004 which was most badly affected by the Indian Ocean Tsunami. In the same year he also supported the South African – Swiss charity IMBEWU which educates the kids on social and health awareness.
UNICEF appointed him as the Goodwill Ambassador in 2006 and has helped them raise public awareness of AIDS.
Roger Federer’s helps Ukraine
Russia invaded Ukraine on 24th February, 2022 and has been attacking schools, hospitals and buildings where people sought safety in various cities.

Roger Federer has offered financial help to Ukrainians during Russia’s invasion of the country. He wrote Friday on social media that his foundation will donate $500,000 “to establish access to continued schooling for Ukrainian children.”
He also wrote, “My family and I are horrified seeing pictures from Ukraine and heartbroken for the innocent people who have been so terribly affected. We stand for peace.”
