Russian tennis player, Daniil Medvedev has being seeing the face of success in the recent past. He won the US Open 2021 and reached the final of the Australian Open 2022.
Daniil Medvedev won the Australian Open semi-final against Stefanos Tsitsipas. He beat the Greek 7-6 (7/5), 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 to reach his second consecutive Australian Open final.
Medvedev would have wanted to win to become the first become the first man in the Open era to win his first two Grand Slam titles in succession.
However, Rafael Nadal quashed his hopes to do the same, by making history of his own. Rafa became the first men to win 21 Grand Slam titles.
Daniil Medvedev Apparently To Play For Red Bull Racing
Daniil Medvedev is an avid Formula 1 fan. He has expressed his love for car racing on several occasions. The world no. 2 even made a trip down to Monaco last year to take in the Monte-Carlo Grand Prix action.
Medvedev posted a few videos of himself suited up and racing around the track alongside his professional friends Alex Albon and Daniil Kvyat.
He wrote, “No more tennis! My training for F1 has officially started!!”
A twitter user shared a mock image of Medvedev in a racing suit. The image portrayed that Medvedev would sign with the Formula One team, Red Bull Racing.
Daniil took in the picture in good faith and replied, “They broke the news early!”. He also tagged two drivers for Red Bull, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez.
The mock image was the result of Medvedev joining former Formula One driver and compatriot Daniil Kvyat on the racetrack yesterday.
Daniil acknowledged the effort it takes to race a car at the highest level. Medvedev added, “In all seriousness, respect for all these guys.” He also shared his experience when he took a kart for a spin. He said, “it was tough today.”
