Daniil Medvedev is looking to continue Russian dominance in Dubai
The 32nd edition of the Dubai Duty-Free Championships began on February 26 this season. The event has seen eight different players lift the trophy since 2016. Medvedev had won the title last year without dropping a set. The Russian player had only dropped 12 games in five matches last year at the event. He will look to extend his five-match winning streak in Dubai.
The world No. 4 will hope to be the first player since Roger Federer in 2015 to win successive Dubai titles. Medvedev has been in good form this season but played excruciatingly long matches at the Australian Open. He hopes to finish off matches sooner, like last year. Medvedev’s victory will give Dubai a Russian winner for the fourth consecutive year.
