Rafael Nadal won the French Open last week to extend his record to 14 French Open titles and 22 grand slams. While the world saw him lifting the trophy, not many people know that he was actually suffering severely from a foot injury. The Spaniard suffers from a chronic foot injury called Mueller Weiss syndrome. Even during Roland Garros, he was actually taking anesthetic injections under the supervision of his doctor. Amidst all this struggle, he not only lifted the coveted trophy but also beat big names like Djokovic on his way to another French Open.
Now that the French Open is over, the next big question is- will Nadal play the Wimbledon in England? Nadal’s ex-coach and uncle Toni Nadal has now given a major update on the Spaniard’s participation in the Wimbledon. As per Toni, Nadal would hit the court for training from Monday to prepare for Wimbledon. As per him, his niece will play in England even if there is a slight possibility. Toni said, “When we spoke yesterday, he said it was much better. He wants to train. And if he has a little chance, he will play at Wimbledon.”
Toni Nadal says Rafa will start practicing on grass in Mallorca on Monday: “He told me he is doing better. I think he will play in Wimbledon.” 💪

Rafael Nadal Doesn’t Want to Miss Wimbledon 2022
Big names like Roger Federer have already decided to give the tournament a miss and Nadal’s exclusion would further bring down the star value of the tournament. However, the clay-court king had earlier suggested that he would play the prestigious grass tournament if his body is ready for the same. Nadal said last Sunday,
“I love Wimbledon. If I am able to play with anti-inflammatories, yes; to play with anesthetic injections, no. I don’t want to put myself in that position again.”
While Nadal has dominated the clay court his entire career, the same cannot be said for Wimbledon. In his illustrious career of 22 grand slams, he has won the Wimbledon only twice. While just two Wimbledon trophies are impressive for any ordinary tennis player, the record seems underwhelming for a star like Nadal. His arch-rivals Federer and Djokovic have dominated the grass-court against him but he would look to set the record straight this time.
