Stefanos Tsitsipas earned the love and praise of spectators when he helped out a ball girl during his match against Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi. Tsitsipas took on Bonzi in the semifinal of the Mallorca Open which was eventually won by the Greek tennis star.
During the match, Bonzi made a serve which went and hit the ball girl behind Tsitsipas. It was pretty evident that the ball had hit the ball girl really hard. As soon as the incident happened, Tsitsipas reached out to the girl and immediately took her to the side for the expert to check on her.

Bonzi also reached out to the girl and checked if she was alright. The gesture from both players, especially Tsitsipas earned praise and love from the spectators. People inside the stadium clapped and cheered for Tsitsipas seeing his kind gesture.

As far as the match is concerned, Tsitsipas totally dominated Bonzi to reach the final. He won the match in straight sets as the score read 6-4, 6-4. The world number six looked in sublime form and will be happy with his performance going into Wimbledon.

During the post-match interview, Tsitsipas revealed how the tournament has boosted his confidence days before Wimbledon. Moreover, he said, “I have played a final a week before a Grand Slam before. It was the year I made the final at Roland Garros, in Lyon. It worked out pretty well to have that final and consistency of matches.”
Tsitsipas will now face the winner of the semifinal match between Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut and Swiss Antoine Bellier in the final. If he manages to win it, it will be his second title this season. He previously won the tournament in Monte Carlo in April.

The Greek tennis star will face Switzerland’s Alexander Ritschard in the first round of Wimbledon. It should be an easy match for him as his opponent is unseeded. With Zverev and Medvedev not playing the tournament, Tsitsipas is seeded fourth for Wimbledon 2022.
