At the Rod Laver Arena, earlier today, the Greek champ Stefanos Tsitsipas was in an on-court mess yet again. During his fourth round match against Taylor Fritz, Stefanos received code violations throughout the match.
The father of Tsitsipas, Apostolos was constantly giving Stefanos tips while the latter played the game. This infuriated the chair umpire Damien Dumusois, who gave the Greek player code violation.
Apostolos was giving coaching tips to Stefanos Tsitsipas, which is against the rules of the game. This led to the 23 year old receiving code violation.
Fritzipas are into a fifth set.
Tsitsipas has received several code violations for coaching. Umpire Damien Dumusois at the set break: “You tell him [to stop], or I’m going to keep giving codes.”
