The Australian Open has reached the brink of its conclusion and much like the prestigious grade it offers players to compete within, the championship’s prize money is even better.
The annual Grand Slam event is held in Melbourne Park every January and elongates for 15 days on the fast hard court surface. The slam’s prize money heeds in a positive direction as each year passes by and the Australian Open 2023 is no exception to it.

The level of intensity between athletes competing on the ATP Tour and the upcoming younger generation of players seemingly increases every season as they are driven by the hunger of bagging the Australian Grand Slam and claiming the enormous prize money it offers.
According to the championship, the total prize money for the Australian Open 2023 is a whopping $54.6 million, which in comparison with last year has a significant 3.4% increase to it.
The prize money offered to the winner of the Australian Open is determined to fill the pockets of the champion savoring its victory and it all closes down to none other than the crowd favorite at Melbourne Park, Novak Djokovic.
Novak Djokovic claims the 2023 Australian Open crown
Serbian tennis professional Novak Djokovic has delighted himself with the Australian Open crown for a record 10th time and shunned critics with his impressive run at Melbourne Park.
Heeding the crowd seated at the Rod Laver Arena in his appraisal, Nole stumped Greek player Stefanos Tsitsipas yet again in Australia after previously ending his championship run at the 2021 French Open.

Djokovic defeated Stefanos without dropping a single set, ending the match with a convincing score of 6-3, 7-6(4). Although the Serb did face some resistance from the ‘Greek God’ in two sets as he stretched towards having a shot winning the tie-breaks, it did stop Djoker from laying his claim on another title in Australia.
The Serb, with his win registered in Australia now, equals the total number of Grand Slams won by Spaniard Rafael Nadal, 22. Nadal was the defending champion at this year’s tournament but his run was however cut short due to an on-court reoccurrence of a previous hip injury.
His victory at Australian Park buys him another 2000 ATP points and mints the Serb with a ridiculous prize money of $2.07 million. This amount further adds to Nole’s immense collection of prize money collected at the Australian Open and the count is not likely to end any soon!
