In 2019, Simona Halep defeated Serena Williams in straight sets to triumph in her first Wimbledon Championships title and second overall Grand Slam. It seemed like she will finally taste actual success; however, because of injuries and doping scandals, she failed to reach the peak of her on-court potential.
Recently, the former World No. 1 has been charged with a second anti-doping rule violation. Interestingly, the violation was reported when she was provisionally suspended after being tested positive in a doping test last year.

However, the Romanian tennis professional has accused the anti-doping bodies of “harassment” by applying new doping acquisitions on her. Halep’s statement has also been supported by her coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, who has also worked with Serena Williams.
Amid the hassle, Simona Halep’s ex-husband, Toni Iuruc came to her defense while she was suffering from provisional suspension. The Russian businessman stated that he was shocked when he got to know what happened.

Toni Iuruc also suspected the test of being inaccurate saying that Halep will not do anything like that because she values her game as well as her career the most. He said:
“I’m shocked, I haven’t recovered for an hour, I’m shocked and shocked again! I can not believe that. I’ve known Simona for three years, of which at least two are in the circuit, and I swear to you that this girl, my ex-wife, is obsessed with one thing: honor! You can take anything from Simona, (but) if you (take) away her honor, her fairness, you kill her! She is no longer human!”
However, the Romanian tennis player has also penned an extremely saddening note after the news broke out recently. As a result, numerous tennis fans around the world are coming forward to support the two-time Grand Slam Champion.

Two-time Grand Slam champion, Simona Halep tied the knot with Romanian billionaire and famous businessman, Toni Iuruc in September following the 2021 US Open. Halep regarded getting married as “an extremely important step”.
The couple always seemed happy together, however, their marriage was short-lived as they got divorced just before their 1st anniversary.
“We decided together with Simona to break up. Stop insisting, it’s my last public appearance … The rest will be handled by the lawyers in the most civilized way possible. Thank you for understanding.” Iurac said.
The couple never actually opened up about their split publically but they have called it a ‘mutual decision’. The Romanian Businessman also stated that the separation should occur ‘in the most civilized way possible’. However, he has supported his ex-wife a number of times.
