Venus Williams has never ceased to amaze the tennis world and her fans with her incredible performances, and the majority of that credit goes to her father, Richard Williams, who from an early age trained her to emerge as one of the top professionals in the sport ever produced.

Tennis veteran Richard first started with his daughter Venus’ training when she was merely 4 years old and has since then done everything to make sure impeccable and glorified results make their way toward her.

Despite much controversy surrounding Richard’s unorthodox attitude towards his daughter, the American tennis star, in a video, recalled moments with her father that eventually worked out for her in the best possible way imaginable.

Discussing the same, Venus Williams in a video she uploaded on her official YouTube channel, talked about how her father declined her to participate in competitive tournaments despite living up to the condition of having defeated him in a match.

“I had to beat my dad before I got to play a junior tournament. That was always the rule, when I got to beat him I got to play. I remember we were in a park one night and it happened much sooner than he expected, I was 8 years old and I was like okay, yes, I get to play and he was like ‘No, not yet’ I remember I had to wait at least one year more before he let me play tournaments,” stated Venus.

‘King Richard’ is a biopic which was solely dedicated to the strange efforts Richard pooled to get his daughters to climb the tennis world ladder, and despite the movie being unable to present every single memory for obvious reasons, it was a blockbuster and notably did extremely well in the box office.
