Serena Williams and Venus Williams’ rise to fame and celebrity status is unquestionably ethical and backed up by their hard work. However, according to his daughter Sabrina Williams, their father Richard Williams’ history is allegedly hazy and has deceived the masses.

Richard Williams’ biopic ‘King Richard‘ helped provide the world with insight into the sacrifices he made for his daughter Serena and Venus. Furthermore, it also depicted the Williams sisters’ road to tennis glory with the assistance of their father’s 78-page champion highlighting his steps to success.

Amidst the biopic’s release and worldwide recognition, Serena and Venus Williams’ half-sister Sabrina Williams has slammed Richard Williams. In an exclusive interview with The Sun, Sabrina talked about how the Will Smith starring biopic is merely a hoax and conveniently left out his unforgivable actions.

Richard Williams before marrying the tennis icon’s mother, Oracene Price, walked out on his late wife Betty Johnson in the late 1960s. According to Sabrina, Richard dumped his five kids which notably included her and her eight weeks old sister. As a result, Sabrina Williams and her family had to endure poverty throughout their childhood years and struggled to even pay for their mother’s cancer treatment.

Sabrina Williams claims Richard Williams’ biopic lacks credibility

Sabrina Williams alleged that regardless of her estranged father Richard Williams’ omitted past, ultimately they suffered the consequences of his cold actions. Furthermore, she criticized and undermined the movie and claimed it to have baseless merits.

“My sister Reneeka was a baby eight weeks old when my dad left. How do you leave a baby? I was eight years old, and he left under the pretense ‘I’m gonna get you a bike?’ I can laugh about it now. I don’t think it should have taken up the whole movie, but, to give the movie some more credibility, at least reference it, as he left us when he was a grown man. Does anyone believe this story?” spoke Sabrina.

She further added by saying “I get it, every movie is slightly economical with the truth. But because it’s Venus and Serena, nobody is going to put anything bad about them or make it seem like they were part of something bad. Truth be told, those girls rose to the top while his other children had to suffer because of the choices my dad made. We were raised in poverty after he left.”

Sabrina Williams has also slammed Richard Williams saying that she won’t attend his funeral. She also backed this statement stating that she buried him in her head long ago.

Sabrina Williams wishes to meet Serena Williams’ daughter Olympia Ohanian

Sabrina Williams has met her tennis-playing half-sisters once in her lifetime. She stated that she crossed paths with Serena Williams and Venus Williams by chance, at the Knott’s Berry Farm theme park in California.

On the subject of whether she would ever meet the duo again, she said: “I don’t think I will ever meet Serena or Venus another time.” Nonetheless, she further added by saying she would absolutely love to get the opportunity to meet her niece. “I’d love to be able to meet my niece [Serena Williams’ daughter Olympia] because she’s so cute and adorable, I love kids.”
