Khabib Nurmagomedov annoucned his retirement from the sport after a submission win over Justin Gaethje back at UFC 254. However, after Abdulmanap’s departure, Nurmagommedov opined that his mother no longer wants him to compete inside the Octagon. Despite Khabib Nurmagomedov making it clear that he has no intention of fighting again, UFC President Dana White was persistent that the Dagestani fighter will return one more time.

Khabib Nurmagomedov has officially retired with a record 29-0 having defended his lightweight title three times against the best that the division had to offer.
