Former UFC welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley makes his boxing debut against Youtuber turner pro boxer Jake Paul on August 30, 2021. This fight will take place under the prestigious banner of Showtime, just adding much more credibility and giving a bigger platform to the duo.
There are a lot of speculations around how this fight will play out. Many fans believe that Jake Paul has finally bitten off more than he can chew and he will pay for it on August 30. But, some believe that Jake Paul will secure another win by beating Tyron Woodley on his 4th pro boxing fight.
Though Tyron Woodley has the support of the majority of MMA fans, Henry Cejudo does not seem to agree with the notion that Woodley will come out victorious in his boxing debut.
In a recent interview, Henry Cejudo gave his honest prediction for Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley. And his prediction might not be appreciated by the MMA fans but is unbiased and logical. Cejudo explained:
“I got Jake as a favorite too because Woodley’s a one-hitter quitter type of guy. I don’t think Tyron Woodley going with Floyd’s going to help him. I think that’s the worst thing you wanna do because you don’t have that style. There’s only one Mayweather with the shoulder roll.
“I mean the dude can hit, he’s an athlete, you gotta give him credit to that point. I think Jake Paul’s going to stop him.
“I fought amateur, I fought MMA, I know the difference in striking and things like that. If it goes the distance, I think Jake Paul’s gonna edge it out.
“Tyron Woodley doesn’t have combinations man, it’s a one-punch thing. Jake Paul’s going to be able to take those punches man. So I got Jake Paul, decision or maybe even stopping him”

How will the MMA background help Tyron Woodley in his boxing fight?
Though Tyron Woodley is one of the most accomplished UFC fighters in recent times, he is definitely not known for his boxing skills. Though he has beaten some of the finest strikers in UFC he is also not known for his striking prowess.
Tyron Woodley is powerful, explosive, and durable, which is a deadly combination inside the MMA octagon when you also add his wrestling skills. But, it will be a much different scenario inside the boxing ring.
Woodley’s footwork needs to be different. His combinations should be way different than what he usually does inside the UFC octagon. He needs to be more active with his feet and hands in a boxing fight. If Woodley can make all these adjustments in such a short period of time then he does have a chance to beat a novice boxer such as Jake Paul. However, it won’t be an easy task for The Chosen One.
