Considered to be one of the most gifted and promising players of this generation, Alexander Zverev was born in Hamburg, Germany on April 20, 1997.
Both his parents, Irina and Alexander Zverev Sr. were tennis players who played for the Soviet Union. They moved to Germany in 1990 for Irina’s tournament. Both of them were offered the positions of tennis instructors. It led them to make the decision to settle in the country.

Alexander had a flourishing Junior career as he became the World No 1 Junior Tennis. He started his junior career in 2011 at International Tennis Federation and won his junior title in 2013. In 2015, he was ranked 83 in the US Open and became the youngest player in the top 100. He was also named the ATP newcomer of the year.
In 2016, Zverev defeated Roger Federer at the Halle Open, and in the same year, he won his first ATP final in St. Petersburg Open.
In 2017, he won against Stan Wawrinka in the Miami Open and won two more Masters titles in Rome Masters and Canada Masters. By the 2018 season, he was world rank number 5 and won the Monte Carlo Masters title.
Alexander won the 2018 ATP World Tour Finals by defeating Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals and finals, respectively. It still remains his biggest title to this point in his career.

Rolex – Alexander joined the elite luxury Swiss watch brand Rolex in 2021. Zverev joined the likes of Roger Federer, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Dominic Thiem with Rolex.

Adidas – Zverev previously used Nike until 2016. Since then has been sponsored by the German sports apparel company. Alexander wears Adidas’ kits on match days which includes footwear.
