WrestlingNews.co has confirmed another match at WWE WrestleMania 39. A match involving Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch has been canceled. After months of rumors and speculation about their singles match, WWE is apparently preparing to go in a different way.
Lynch and Rousey were scheduled to compete in a singles match at Survivor Series 2018, however, Lynch injured herself just before the event, causing WWE to substitute her with Charlotte Flair. According to Angel Aramboles of WrestlingNews.co, WWE has “nixed” plans for the dream Rousey-Lynch match.

A source told Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio that Lynch vs. Rousey at WrestleMania is now “extremely doubtful,” while another said the notion is “dead.”
WrestleMania 35 featured a triple-threat match between Lynch, Rousey, and Charlotte Flair, with both the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championships on the line. Lynch won the match by pinning the former UFC fighter and claiming both title belts. Since then fans have been asking for a Lynch vs Ronda match.
Back in February, Dave Meltzer stated that WWE was planning a Rousey vs. Lynch match for WrestleMania 39. Of course, WWE’s long-term plans always can change, and Aramboles’ latest report says that is exactly what happened.

WWE’s plans for WrestleMania are altering, and as previously revealed, Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey’s singles match in 2023 seems unlikely. According to Angel Aramboles of WrestlingNews.co, WWE has “scrapped” the plans for the dream Rousey-Lynch match.

Wrestling and MMA reporter Steven Muehlhausen reported that sources close to Becky Lynch backstage say the match no longer has the sparkle to grab the audience’s interest.
According to WWE sources, the company should have planned the match at WrestleMania 35 when their feud was one of the biggest angles in pro wrestling. Rousey was said to be at the top of her skills at the time since, after losing at WrestleMania, she was on a lengthy break until her return in 2022.
Becky is well-liked backstage, has made a name for herself in recent years, and has considerable influence inside the firm. Backstage politics is nothing new; it has been practiced since the days of Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, and even Hulk Hogan.
