Reach and reach advantages are the terms that are used in MMA all the time. As seen with Max Halloway vs Alexander Volkanovski, where Halloway struggled due to his shorter reach and more height compared to Alex. However, as McGregor and Poirier are of the same height, Conor‘s 2 inches reach advantage over Dustin Poirier won’t decide the fate of the bout.
Conor Mcgregor’s chin against Dustin Poirier
Apart from the height and reach difference another interesting comparison between the two can of their chins. As one Mike Tyson quoted “everybody has a plan until they get punched on the mouth“. This quote somehow relates with the Notorious. He always seems to control and push in a bout until he is landed with a punch on his face. Be it the fight with Khabib, Dustin, or Nate. Conor didn’t seem to be in trouble before he got punched in his face and that’s something he has to look into.
On the other hand, Diamond is tough. He has the ability to take punches on his mouth. here is a video where Dustin’s chin got tested by Conor’s punch.
