UFC 264 is going to be the third highest-selling live gate in the promotion. Dana White confirmed that only UFC 205 and UFC 229 came in with a higher gate value than $15 million, which is expected to be the mark for UFC 264. It is to be mentioned that Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier is the main event at UFC 264 and the wonderboy will be fighting Gilbert Burns in the co-main.
The news was reported by MMA reporter Aaron Bronsteter via Twitter, who tweeted regarding his conversation with UFC CEO Dana White -“The expected gate for #UFC264 will be in the $15 million range per Dana White, which would make it the 3rd largest gate figure in UFC history behind UFC 205 ($17.7 mil.) and UFC 229 (17.2 mils.)”

The only common link between the highest-selling live gates in the UFC: Conor McGregor
UFC 209 and 229 have had better numbers than UFC 264 in terms of live gates sales. But, the circumstances that UFC has dealt with, make it better than the other two. Arranging a fight with full crowds after a whole year of COVID’s destruction is not easy.
However, the management is going to initiate that at UFC 264. Now, besides the management, there is another man who is the reason behind these high sales. He is none other than Conor Notorious McGregor. Moreover, he is the only common link among UFC 205, UFC 228, and UFC 264, the three highest live gate sales PPVs of UFC.
The Irishman fought Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 for the lightweight title and knocked him out to become the first-ever two-division champion in UFC. That fight has recorded the highest ever gate sales in UFC of 17.7 million dollars.
The other fight of McGregor was against Khabib Nurmagomedov which trembled the charts of live gate sales. Considering the build-up and rivalry between the two made the PPV a great success.
This shows how big of a star the Notorious is in the fight world. There are fighters who draw bigger audiences than Conor but no one else has drawn the amount of attention he draws for his sport.
