Brandon Moreno is going to defend his flyweight title against Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 270 and Henry Cejudo believes Figueiredo will be the winner.
The first UFC PPV event of the year 2022 is round the corner. The PPV is filled with super exciting match-ups. At UFC 270, there will be two title defenses and one of them is the flyweight trilogy fight between Moreno vs Figueiredo. This fight was originally made for UFC 269 but later moved to 270 as the co-main event.
It will be the first time Moreno is going to defend his title after winning it from Figueiredo at UFC 263 in 2021. The pair will meet again for the third consecutive time and will do their best to settle the score once and for all.
Henry Cejudo on Deiveson Figueiredo’s preparations for the bout
Figueiredo trains at the Fight Ready MMA training center at Scottsdale, Arizona. It’s the same gym where Henry Cejudo goes for his training and where he coaches wrestling young MMA aspirants. In the UFC Embedded: Vlog series 2, Cejudo was asked about his opinions on training with Figueiredo.
Cejudo explained that Figueiredo is not there to mess around and is totally ready for the fight. After losing to Moreno in the second fight it really affected Figueiredo as he is out here representing his nation which holds very dear to him. According to Triple C, this time the Brazilian has a lot to prove and will do anything to win.
“These guys, they know if they lose like.. that inspiration that you work for that country and city the fire kinda just dies out a little. That’s something very dear to him, so he’s coming out fire blazing,” said Cejudo.
Cejudo revealed that this time Figueiredo doesn’t have any excuse. He has evolved a lot from the last time he was in the octagon. He further added, “He’s no longer a killer now he is a calculated killer. There is no doubt in my mind that Deiveson Figueiredo is gonna win on Saturday night,”.
Cejudo certainly believes that Deiveson will come out victorious Saturday night. What do you feel? Who do you think will win? Do let us know in the comment section.
