UFC 273 Early Prelims: Aleksei Oleinik vs Jared Vanderaa, Fight Breakdown
With both fighters currently on a slump, the match-up is a very intriguing one in terms of who can get their careers back on track. However, the match will favour the younger fighter much better.
Oleinik is 44 years old at the moment and his time in the UFC is coming to an end. During his prime years, Aleksei was one of the most feared grapplers. He almost choked out the abovementioned Derrick Lewis during their fight. However, he was unable to finish the fight and exhausted his gas tank.
Vanderaa got into the UFC after knocking out his opponent in ‘Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series.’ However, he has only managed to win 1 out of his last 3 fights. But the 29-year old will have the perfect opportunity to get back on the winning column.
As evident by his last few fights, The Boa Constrictor’s chin is not the same as it was previously. Hence, Jared Vanderaa will look to close the distance and land a few big shots which may do the trick. However, if Oleinik gets the fight to the ground, he can still get the job done.
