Jessica Eye announced her retirement from mixed martial arts after her unanimous decision loss against Maycee Barber at UFC 276.
“I think it’s the time. I have been a pro since 2009. I have had plenty of UFC fights.” Eye said as she announced her retirement from the sport.
The UFC veteran competed in 27 pro-MMA bouts with 15 wins and 11 losses to her name. During her illustrious mixed martial arts career, she fought for the UFC Flyweight Championship back in June of 2019 in a losing effort.

Every time Maycee Barber steps inside the Octagon, she makes sure fight fans are entertained. That’s what happened, as she took on Jessica Eye in the early prelims of UFC 276: Israel Adesanya vs Jared Cannonier.
Stepping in as a replacement for Casey O’Neill, Maycee Barber took on #10 ranked UFC veteran Jessica Eye at UFC 276.
The first round saw both the fighters engage in a clinch for the better part of the entire five minutes. While it looked like the plan from Eye was to take down Maycee Barber, she paid the price for it as Barber landed significant damage on the veteran.
Barber landed some vicious elbows and momentarily stunned Jessica Eye on several occasions. However, Eye bounced back in the second round. And despite the early onslaught, she was able to secure a takedown and maintain the position to finish the round.
Maycee Barber picks up her third straight victory at UFC 276
While the first two rounds saw both the fighters engage in the clinch and on the ground, the third round saw both Eye and Barber engage in a striking battle.
Maycee had the upper hand during the exchange, making great use of high-kicks and some solid right hands to seal the deal in the third round.

In the process, she picked up her third straight win inside the cage. Needless to say, with the victory, Barber will find herself in the top 10 of the UFC’s flyweight division.
“I just turned 24 years old. I am still a baby in this sport.” Barber said in her post-fight Octagon interview.
