Fight Breakdown
TJ Brown is a dangerous fighter with phenomenal wrestling. His striking is lethal and can cause havoc for Silva. Brown is also more experienced and faced a lot of tough competitors in his career. He has shown slick submission skills and has good cardio.
However, looking at his resume, it seems like he can’t implement his skillset effectively in a fight. But he needs to make drastic improvements because this division is filled with killers. Brown has the potential to stop Silva in this bout with his ground games and striking, but the latter is more dangerous on the feet.
Erik Silva is a phenomenal athlete and is better than Brown in all aspects. He is a powerful striker with slick boxing skills. Moreover, he is a threat on the mat and it’s a possibility that he will hunt for a submission against Brown.
Silva’s takedown defense and defensive grappling will play an important role in this matchup. He will need to utilize his lethal striking against Brown and overwhelm with volume to outstrike his opponent. He has good cardio and all the tools to win this fight.

Brown is more experienced but his lack of finishing skills and a good strategy can be a problem for him. Silva is the better striker and will come with the intent to finish this bout early as he will need a dominant victory to kickstart his UFC career.
Brown should not be underestimated because he has sound striking skills. But I believe Silva will find a way to win this bout early on feet or via submission. If this fight goes the distance, Silva outpoints Brown to get a decision win.
