Adrian Yanez will look to make a huge jump in the UFC’s bantamweight rankings as he takes on #6 ranked Rob Font on the main card of UFC 287 this weekend in Miami, Florida. The 29-year-old is making a big leap, taking on the elites of his weight class in hopes of a quick shot at the title belt. Meanwhile, Rob Font will look to jump back to the winning column after back-to-back losses against Jose Aldo and Marlon Vera.
While Yanez might just find himself among the absolute best should he get his hands raised, Rob Font stands to lose not just his rankings but possibly his dream of becoming a UFC Champion. With so much at stake between both the fighters, who do you think rises to the occasion at UFC 287? Let’s find out.

UFC 287 prediction: Rob Font vs Adrian Yanez predictions
If there’s something we have learned about Rob Font for as long as we have seen him fight, it is that he uses the jab quite effectively. And that’s it. Despite the high regard for his boxing skills, Rob Font failed miserably against an aging Jose Aldo, absorbing huge damage during the fight. It did not get any better in his next fight, where he took on Chito Vera, who, by the way, put on a beating for the ages on Rob Font.

Going against someone like Adrian Yanez, we feel it will be the same story this time around as well. Rob Font is just not quick enough. He is sharp and has great movement, but he is hittable and tends to slow down as the fight progresses. While one can point out Randy Costa’s ability to dominate Adrian Yanez with a jab when they shared the cage, it’s equally hard to forget Yanez’s adjustments that saw him seal the deal in the second round.
“I have to go out there and put away Font. After that, the sky is the limit for me.”

Simply put, we expect a similar outing. While Font can have early success with his reach, Yanez will likely walk down on Font and get the job done. However, there’s a catch! If Font decides to wrestle, and somehow shows a different side than what we have seen him execute during his fights, Yanez’s inexperience on the ground could just be Font’s path to victory. However, we feel Font will fail here as well, and while we might see him trying to engage in the clinch or maybe take him down once or twice, Yanez, as it stands, is just too good for Rob Font. In a back-and-forth fight, we feel Adrian Yanez gets the job done in the third round.
