UFC 289 is a highly-anticipated event that is set to take place this weekend on June 10. The event is set to take place inside the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada. The card has many great fights on the card. Nassourdine Imavov will face off against Chris Curtis in the preliminary main event which has 4 fights on the card. But, the main card is a stellar one with 5 bouts on the card with fighters like Amanda Nunes, Charles Oliveira, and Beneil Dariush on it.
In the opening bout of the night, Marc-Andre Barriault fights Eryk Anders in a middleweight fight. Featherweight star Dan Ige takes on Nate Landwehr in the second bout of the main card followed by Mike Malott vs Adam Fugitt at welterweight. Then comes the people’s main event of the night, Charles Oliveira vs Beneil Dariush. With the lightweight champ Islam Makhachev waiting in the wings, fans can expect both Oliveira and Dariush to put on great performances.
However, Amanda Nunes vs Irene Aldana takes the spotlight being the headliner. The women’s bantamweight champion, Amanda Nunes will look to kick off her second 135lbs title reign with a win this Saturday. After regaining her belt at UFC 277 and avenging her loss to Julianna Pena, Nunes was set to face Pena for a trilogy. But, after Pena’s unavailability, UFC slotted in Irene Aldana.
Hence, the card as a whole, seems to be a pretty entertaining one. So how much are the fighters earning to put their bodies on the line this Saturday? Let’s find out.
