Semelsberger vs Medic: Prediction
Matthew Semelsberger is heading into the fight with Uros Medic after a very close fight against Jeremiah Wells. Before this loss, he had won via decision against Jake Matthews. Meanwhile, Uroš Medić heads into the fight after his TKO victory over Omar Morales.
Medic, being a southpaw and having excellent striking accuracy, backed by a high knockout rate, poses a threat to Semelsberger. He can end the fight early by delivering powerful strikes. While his aggressive fighting style led him to lose against Jalin Turner, one can assume it worked as much-needed lesson for him to tighten up his game. Hence, the Serbian fighter will certainly be careful about exposing himself too much both his feet and on the ground.
Medic’s impressive strength and endurance could compensate for this difference, giving him an edge in longer, more physically demanding fights. But fans can’t ignore the fact that Medić is moving up to welterweight. He will be facing heavy punches from Matthew. If Matthew chooses the right gameplan, and shows his usual bravery he can walk out of the octagon with a victory.
Both the welterweights will be meeting early in the evening and fans can expect a beautiful finish in this fight. Afterall, both the fighters are top-notch strikers who can finish any fight with one good combination.
However, after an overall comparison of both the fighters’ stats, it will be safe to assume that Medic will win because of his knockout power combined with his superior technical skills. If he can adapt to the new weight class, it will seal the victory for him at UFC 291.
