Michael ‘Venom’ Page is set to make his UFC debut this weekend in a welterweight bout against Kevin Holland. MVP’s much-awaited debut is on the main card of UFC 299 which was scheduled for March 9, 2024, at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. Fans have awaited MVP’s debut since he was signed by UFC CEO Dana White in December 2023.
UFC 299 is one of the best overall fight cards in a long time. Some extraordinary fighters are taking to the Octagon this Saturday and MVP is one of them. The Britisher made a name for himself in Bellator where he dominated but could never become a champion. He will be hoping to earn a winning start to his UFC career against Holland, who has also fought at Bellator but only once.

UFC 299: Kevin Holland vs Michael “Venom” Page: Fighting styles
Mixed Martial Arts fighters, as the word ‘mixed’ suggests have a vivid mix of fighting styles under their sleeves. Many fighters are accomplished in multiple combat sports techniques and effectively use all of them to win their MMA fights. Some use raw power and hitting techniques to earn knockouts while some use wrestling and takedown techniques to go into submissions.
For MVP, submission has been an unknown commodity for almost a decade. Out of his 23 pro-MMA fights, he has won 21 (13 KO, 5 decision, 3 submission) and lost two. His last submission win was in 2016.
And just like that, MVP drops another flying knee (his 2nd as a pro) to rack up his 15th win.

Page began his career as a kickboxer and earned multiple world championships. His primary MMA fighting style is kickboxing but he involves several other techniques. He uses a mixture of taekwondo, karate, and kung fu styles but most importantly in a pointfighting system.
Page emulates a freestyle kickboxing style which, according to him, “is a points-scoring style, a points-scoring version of kickboxing.” He possesses devastating power which has been seen in several of his KO wins. The closest relatives to this style, he said, are karate and taekwondo as they are also pointfighting styles.
On the other hand, Holland’s fighting style is mostly Kung-Fu. Trailblazer is a second-degree black belt in Kung Fu and also a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Holland’s BJJ approach and extraordinary KO technique are seen in his wins. His 25-10 record consists of 14 KOs, 7 submissions, and 3 decisions.
Holland, however, has been on a tough run recently. He has lost five and won five of his fights after achieving a 20-5 record. The American fighter will be a good debut fight for MVP but MVP’s devastating power might prove to be too much for Holland.
