Beneil Dariush takes on former interim champion Tony Ferguson at UFC 262 in arguably the biggest fight of his MMA career. Dariush is riding on a six-fight win-streak and looks determined to set a statement in the division with a big win over Ferguson.
The UFC veteran will step inside the Octagon in his 20th appearance for the promotion. Ahead of the epic encounter, Dariush appeared alongside MMAJunkie and expressed his excitement in what is probably the biggest night of his life.
Dariush explains how he wanted to fight Michael Chandler initially since he did not quite understand the hype behind the new UFC signing. He also added that he wanted to fight Oliverira considering his recent rise. However, he maintained that he had no problem with Tony Ferguson wanting to fight whoever.

Dariush expressed that he has the utmost respect for Ferguson and believes he is a champion regardless of the recent setbacks. The Iranian fighter stated that he was not really surprised when Ferguson accepted to fight him. Here’s what he said.
“Yes, but then I remember Tony is Tony, you know, Tony is the type of guy. Tony’s the man. I got a lot of respect. A lot of people didn’t say yes, so a lot of respect for him.”
Dariush feels it’s a do-or-die situation for Tony Ferguson and expects the best version of El Cucuy at UFC 262. It’s hard not to agree with the Iranian fighter. Ferguson is coming off back-to-back losses against Justin Gaethje and Charles Oliveira and will look to jump back to the winning column with a win over Beneil Dariush.
Beneil Dariush could jump into the top-5 with a big win over Tony Ferguson
