Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Floyd Mayweather might not be the fight that makes a lot of sense. But, it has the potential to be one of the biggest fights in the history of combat sports.
There were rumors that this fight was being discussed to take place in Saudi. And Khabib’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz even claimed that there were offers of 100 million dollars for a potential fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Floyd Mayweather.
However, the fight has not come into fruition yet. But, Ali Abdelaziz’s recent comments have the fans excited about the UFC lightweight champion making a boxing debut.
Responding to Conor McGregor’s announcement about fighting Manny Pacquiao in Saudi, Ali Abdelaziz stated:
“When your team called Middle East you guys got shutdown in Saudi Arabia , nobody in Abu Dhabi is going to do business with you If any fight will happen , it would be Khabib VS Mayweather in the Middle East .”
Will Khabib Nurmagomedov make his boxing debut?
Conor McGregor vs Manny Pacquiao will easily be one of the biggest fights in recent times. Though the fans might count out McGregor if he fights the legend Pacquiao it can not be denied that the fight will be a grand spectacle.
And the same can be said if Khabib Nurmagomedov makes his boxing debut. He is undefeated in MMA and is one of the greatest to ever do it. A fight between Khabib and Floyd will be a battle between two of the best fighters from two different sports.
Floyd Mayweather is certainly open to fights like these since financially it will be huge for him and the risk involved is not that high. It’s hard to imagine any UFC fighters beating Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match at his weight class.
But, Khabib Nurmagomedov has already said that he is open to fighting Mayweather under one condition. He wants 11 rounds of boxing and one round under MMA rules. And it’s very hard to believe that Mayweather is going to agree to this stipulation.
nonetheless, the boxing debut of Khabib Nurmagomedov will be on the table once he finishes his MMA career. But, will the Eagle chose to put his legacy on the line and face someone as good as Floyd in the boxing?
