Former UFC fighter Nate Diaz is all set to join the list of MMA fighters who have entered into the world of boxing. The lightweight and welterweight fighter is all set to lock horns with popular YouTuber turned professional boxer Jake Paul on August 5 in Dallas, Texas.
Diaz released a vlog on July 15 on his YouTube channel in which he is showing his preparation journey for the PPV event against Jake Paul. The vlog starts with him taking Jiu Jitsu seminars. This has left the fans confused as Diaz is supposed to fight Jake in a boxing match. So, him showing his Jiu Jitsu skills in that particular video did not make sense for some viewers.
“Nate is the type of guy who trains BJJ for boxing match,” commented a person on Nate Diaz’s YouTube video.
A few days ago, Nate Diaz’s boxing training footage got leaked and fight fans were not impressed by the MMA fighter’s sparring ability. A Twitter user wrote that his punching was as “slow as molasses in winter.” So, Diaz has to up his boxing game as Jake Paul has quite some experience in the ring. He has even fought UFC legend Anderson Silva and defeated him.
Jake Paul not happy with Nate Diaz’s effort to sell their PPV
The fight between the two stars was expected to be very popular. However, Jake Paul has blamed his opponent Nate Diaz for not being able to properly promote their fight.
Jake Paul has fought as many 7 pro-boxing matches and he for sure knows how to sell his fights. However, when asked about the PPVs in an interview, he said that he is carrying the whole show on his own and expected more from Diaz.
“That’s what I wanted – that’s why I signed up for this – is to give the people a show and to squash this beef,” Paul said. “He talked a lot more sh*t to me before we signed up to fight. So, he’s kind of being a b*tch in that sense. I expected more out of him, and I expected him to carry that gangster attitude and to not take my insults. But he’s pretty much rolled over like a b*tch and has been quite boring, which pisses me off. But I’m used to carrying these promotions. It’s no different in this one.” –added Jake Paul
He further went on to explain that he is expecting more from this fight in terms of PPVs as Nate Diaz is a bigger star than his previous opponents and has sold millions of PPVs throughout his career.
