Speaking about Khabib Nurmagomedov’s next title defense ahead of the epic showdown against Justin Gaethje for the unification title match for the UFC lightweight championship, UFC President Dana White drew similarities between two of the best to ever step inside the Octagon.

Khabib Nurmagomedov is currently ranked #2 in the UFC Pound for Pound list, with Jon Jones reclaiming the first position for quite some time now. Having decided to move to the heavyweight division, Jon Jones is all set to further cement his legacy as one of the greatest of all time. However, UFC President Dana White believes that win over Justin Gaethje would plummet Khabib Nurmagomedov as the #1 Pound for Pound fighter of all time in the UFC.

With wins over the likes of Dustin Poirier, Rafael dos Anjos and Conor McGregor, Khabib is set to cement his legacy as the greatest lightweight fighter of all time with win over Justin Gaethje come UFC 254. Gaethje is coming of a brutal stoppage win over former interim champion Tony Ferguson which saw him snap El Cucuy’s 13 fight-win streak. With a fighting style that matches Conor McGregor at every level, and a wrestling background to compliment Khabib’s fighting style, Justin Gaethje is seen as the biggest threat to Khabib Nurmagomedov’s throne at the lightweight division.

“We always talk about what Jon Jones has accomplished in his career. Look at how many fights this guy has and he is still undefeated. This is a nasty weight division.” White said.
