Darren Till vs Marvin Vettori expected to headline UFC’s return to ABC on April 10 inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas if off! ESPN journalist Ariel Helwani reports with more details to follow.
Till was expected to make his UFC return against rising contender Marvin Vettori in a five-round main-event to mark UFC’s return to ABC. The last card to feature on ABC was Max Holloway vs Calvin Kattar back in January. Needless to say, it’s a huge setback for UFC fans who were waiting for the return of Liverpool fighter Darren Till. Additionally, it was a huge opportunity for Italian fighter Marvin Vettori, who was looking at a potential title opportunity with a win over the English fighter.

While the reason for why the fight has been pulled off is not known at the moment, it looks like it’s Darren Till who has pulled out of the bout. Marvin Vettori took to Twitter to express his disappointment and called out any fighter to step in with two-weeks notice. While this might not be a surprise, but Kevin Holland has offered to step in on short notice, and the team is waiting for the UFC to make the final call.
What’s next for Marvin Vettori?
Darren Till is coming off a losing effort against former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker. Since his move to the middleweight division, Till has picked up a split decision win over Kelvin Gastelum, going 1-1 into his third middleweight bout against Marvin Vettori.
Meanwhile, the Italian fighter remains undefeated ever since his split decision loss to Israel Adesanya back in April of 2018. Vettori has picked up four back-to-back victories since then, with his most recent win coming against Jack Hermansson back in December of 2020. Vettori is currently #6 in the UFC’s middleweight division.
Vettori took to Twitter and lashed out at Darren Till. Vettori has not said anything about why the fight was pulled off. However, he did give a thumbs up to the idea of fighting Kevin Holland at UFC on ABC 2.

Kevin Holland is coming off a lopsided unanimous decision loss to Derek Brunson. Be that as it may, Holland is still a popular name in the division and is known to step in short notice. It will be interesting to see what lies ahead for the UFC’s return to ABC and if Vettori vs Holland will be a go.
