UFC Fight Night Prelims, Dustin Jacoby vs Jung Da Un: Prediction, Stats and Fight Breakdown

Dustin Jacoby vs Jung Da Un will face each other in the Octagon at UFC Long Island. The light heavyweight fight will go down this Saturday in the prelims of the event. Jacoby is currently ranked 15th in the 205lbs division, while Da Un is yet to have a number beside his name.

Nicknamed Hanyak, Jacoby joined the UFC after beating Ty Flores at Dana White‘s Contender Series in August of 2020. He is yet to be beaten in the promotion in his second run and is on a 6-fight unbeaten streak. Nicknamed ‘Sseda,’ Jung Da Un is a mixed martial artist from South Korea. After having a terrible start to his MMA career, Da Un won 10 fights in a row before getting into the UFC. He has maintained his unbeaten streak in the UFC as well. Jung has had 5 fights in the promotion and has won 4 of them. His bout against Sam Alvey was a draw at UFC 254.

Jung Da Un has 15 career wins and he has managed to secure 13 stoppage wins. Out of his stoppage victories, Jung has managed to knock out 11 of his opponents and has submitted 2. Da Un lands at an average of 4.03 strikes per minute with a striking accuracy of 44%. However, he does absorb 3.77 strikes as well. Despite having heavy power behind his punches, Jung has great ground skills as well. With an accuracy of 61% the Korean fighter manages to secure 2.60 takedowns per fight. 

His opponent Dustin Jacoby had a 2 fight run in the UFC from 2011-2012. But he got cut from the promotion after losing both of them. However, he has a weakness on the ground. While he does not go for takedowns very often, Jacoby does have an average of 0.39 takedowns per fight with an accuracy rate of 42%. But the 34-year-old can be found lacking in his takedown defence. He only has a takedown defence of 58%. 

The outcome of the bout will depend on how good Jacoby does against Da Un’s wrestling. Although Dustin has the power to put Jung’s lights out, he will have to be mindful of Jung’s takedowns. If he can not avoid being taken down, the fans expect an early finish to the bout.
