Uriah Hall and Sean Strickland will share the Octagon in what is expected to be a barn-burner between two of the most explosive strikers in the UFC’s middleweight division this weekend inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas. Hall returns to the Octagon after his TKO win over Chris Weidman, where the former middleweight champion broke his leg on the 17th second of the very first round, to hand a TKO win to Uriah Hall. Meanwhile, Sean Strickland is coming off an impressive win over Krzysztof Jotko.
In what promises to be a barn-burner between both the middleweights, let’s try to look at how both the fighters match up against each other before the UFC Vegas 34 main-event.
Uriah Hall vs Sean Strickland breakdown
Uriah Hall is on a four-fight win streak and hasn’t looked back since his TKO loss against Paulo Costa from back at UFC 226 in July of 2018. Hall has put up back-to-back impressive performances inside the Octagon and will look to maintain his winning streak going forward in probably his last run at the UFC’s middleweight title.
On the other side, Sean Strickland is also on a four-fight winning streak, with his last loss coming against Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos via way of KO. Be that as it may, he has made significant improvement in his last few fights, and will look to make a jump into the top-10 of the UFC’s middleweight division with a win over Hall this weekend.
Both Hall and Strickland are fine strikers and don’t rely much on grappling. However, one can expect Hall to engage in clinch more than he has in the past considering a dangerous stand-up game of Sean Strickland. Hall might also have the physical advantage, as he looks much bigger than Sean.
Hall also has a 3 1/2 inch reach advantage, which he will look to capitalize on, however, he would be careful not to get caught in the kicking range of Sean Strickland. Uriah Hall is a seasoned veteran, but Sean Strickland also comes with a great amount of experience behind his back. Strickland made his UFC debut back in March of 2014, just a year after Uriah Hall.

Both the fighters have a great amount of experience, and with notable names like Kamaru Usman, Anderson Silva, Kelvin Gastelum, Derek Brunson, Robert Whittaker, among others in their resume, it’s going to be a fun night for fight fans around the world.
Uriah Hall vs Sean Strickland prediction
Hall is an explosive fighter, with enough power in his hands to sleep any opponent in the UFC’s middleweight division. Additionally, he has an incredible reach of 79.5 inches. However, he has failed to make optimum use of it, showing gaps in his style whenever he is pressured.
Strickland will look to do the same, and we could expect an early onslaught from Sean who will look to finish Uriah Hall to make a statement. However, if Hall can keep his composure and maintain the pace of the fight, there’s every reason to believe that he could get the job done this weekend.
