When we think about Khabib Nurmagomedov, the conversation cannot go without mentioning his father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov. Khabib’s father groomed him, and made him what he is today. The undisputed champion of the lightweight division and arguably the greatest mixed martial artist of all time. However, Nurmagomedov has always stated that he is more closer to his mother than his father. It’s safe to say from his comments that Khabib is a mother’s child. While his relationship with his father, like any other child was close knit, very rarely does Khabib talk about his mother.
“We are constantly talking about father, father, coach, father, coach. Of course, father is the person I followed all my way. He was constantly near and helped in everything. But I am talking in Russian and I think I need to tell Mom. I’ll tell my Mom, I love my Mom more than my Dad.” Khabib said.
It is interesting to note that whenever Khabib Nurmagomedov rises over adversity and comes out on top, he never fails to mention his mother. The last time around when Khabib had a tough fight, it was against Gleison Tibau. Nurmagomedov escaped what many believe could have been Khabib’s first loss inside the UFC Octagon. The Eagle was well aware about it and did not fail to mention his mother in the post-fight interview.
