Dan Hooker has been in the headlines recently after his shocking statements on UFC lightweight champ Islam Makhachev. Following UFC 284, Dan alleged that Islam took an I.V. and cheated to beat his teammate Alexander Volkanovski. Although that controversy has somewhat died down, Dan finds himself in the news once more, albeit for a completely different reason.
In the latest Instagram post, Dan Hooker revealed that he finally got a tattoo. While his teammate and friend, Israel Adesanya, is a tattoo aficionado, Hooker never got a tattoo himself. But it seems like Dan finally gave in and decided to ink his body for the first time! “The Hangman” seems to be enjoying it as well. He was pumped up to show off the ink and it got appreciation from Izzy as well.

Dan’s caption read, “I’m not a virgin anymore.” But not just Israel Adesanya, even UFC fighter Shane Young also reacted to the tattoo and wrote, “Damn Capt.!” The back tattoo features a skull with what seems to be a samurai helmet. Although Dan did not reveal the significance of the tattoo right away, he promised to do so in an immediate future podcast, titled “Tattoo Talks.”
Dan Hooker recently had a hand surgery
Dan Hooker is one of the toughest individuals in the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) world right now! Fight after fight, the 33-year-old shows why he belongs in the UFC. Although fans can never fault his grit and determination, the recent results have not gone his way. Hooker (MMA record 22-12) has only two wins in his last 6 fights!
However, his losses have come against the likes of Dustin Poirier, Michael Chandler, Islam Makhachev, and Arnold Allen. All of them are amongst the best active fighters in the promotion right now. But thankfully for Hooker, he beat Claudio Puelles in his last fight at UFC 281. Hence, he has some positive momentum behind him. However, the City Kickboxing fighter suffered another setback in his quest for redemption.

He was set to fight lightweight prospect, Jalin Turner at the upcoming UFC 285 PPV on March 4. However, Hooker had to pull out of the contest in light of a hand injury. Not only did he have to withdraw from the fight, but Hooker also had to undergo surgery to fix the injury. It puts him out of action for a significant period. However, judging by his social media posts, Dan seems to be enjoying family time.
