UFC London awaits! Making its return to the O2 Arena for the second time this year, the UFC has brought another stacked card for the English fans this Saturday night. With loads of big-name fighters and numerous interesting matchups, let’s also take a look at the fighter purse and salaries from the night.
For those unaware, UFC London marks the return of one of England’s finest, Tom Aspinall. Following a brutal ACL tear during his fight against Curtis Blaydes last year, Aspinall has taken time off to recover. As such, he will be looking to pick up where he left off and continue the same dominant form as before. Facing him we have #10 ranked Marcin Tybura, who is now looking to make it three wins in a row.
In the co-main event, fans will see ‘Meatball’ Molly McCann make her return against Julija Stoliarenko. Following a dismal performance against the prodigal Erin Blanchfield, a lot is riding on Molly to set things right. However, fighting once again on home soil may be the factor that tips the scales in her favor. Not only that, we have a whole host of interesting fights scattered throughout the card as well.
Notably, Paul Craig makes the move down to Middleweight for his fight against Andre Muniz. Moreover, we also have Lerrone Murphy vs Josh Culibao, Davey Grant vs Daniel Marcos, Makhmud Muradov vs Bryan Barbarena, and Ketlen Vieira vs Pannie Kianzad. Thus, there is no shortage of star power on show for July 22.
UFC London: Tom Aspinall vs Marcin Tybura fight purse and salaries
Before taking a look at the salaries for this event, here are a few things to keep in mind. Fighter salaries are usually not revealed, however, we can estimate a fighter’s payout by looking at their previous, officially revealed payouts. Additionally, keep in mind that these payouts can vary based on a fighter’s win bonus, performance bonus, along with other sponsorship and incentive pay.
With that said, let’s get started. According to reports by The Sports Daily, Tom Aspinall is set to be the highest earner from the event. As such, the Englishman will earn a guaranteed payout of $156,000. Similarly, his opponent, Marcin Tybura will reportedly receive a guaranteed payout of $116,000. As mentioned previously, fighters’ payouts will vary based on the outcome of their fight. Thus Aspinall and Tybura could earn up to $211, 000 as well.
Rounding out the highest-paid fighters at the event we have Bryan Barberena ($156,000), Paul Craig ($106,000), and Ketlen Vieira ($96,000). Similarly, England’s own Molly McCann ($85,000), Nathaniel Wood ($80,000), Jai Herbert ($26,000), and Lerone Murphy ($30,000) will also be earning handsome amounts. Other notable fighters like Andre Muniz ($75,000), Andre Fili ($64,000), and Danny Roberts ($60,000) will also get a solid payday.
As per the reports, the UFC is set to shell out $1.6 Million in salaries, incentives, and bonuses. From that amount, the UFC will pay out $218,500 worth of incentive pay for the fighters. This will require the fighters to comply with outfitting requirements, media responsibilities, and more.
