UFC Makes $4.5 Million in Ticket Sales with UFC Paris Featuring Ciryl Gane and Robert Whittaker, Breaks Records as First Ever UFC Event in France

Cirly Gane won in UFC Paris

UFC Paris: Gane vs. Tuivasa became the 24th consecutive sold out event with an attendance of 15,405 and total announced gate of $3,242,837. This was the first ever UFC event held in France, Paris.

This event featured many French athletes and all high intensity matches, with six of the fights going distance and the other six ending in stoppages.

The main event featured top heavyweight contenders Ciryl Gane and Tai Tuivasa and with the co-main event featuring Middleweight No. 1 contender Robert Whittaker going up against No. 2 ranked Marvin Vettori.

UFC Paris proved to be very successful with a sold out arena. The other non-PPV events from this year are:

UFC on ABC 3: Ortega vs. Rodriguez

UFC Paris:

Former UFC interim heavyweight champion, Ciryl Gane sent the hometown crowds on their feet, with a stoppage win over the rising contender Tai Tuivasa in the headliner of the main event on Saturday, September 3.

Whittaker returned to his winning ways after this night. The former middleweight champion showcased his elite skills and put on a performance against Vettori, which won him the fight via unanimous decision.

Gane vs. Tuivasa was awarded the fight of the night, along with Benoit Saint-Denis and Abus Magomedov earning the ‘Performance of the Night’ bonuses from their respective bouts.

It was a successful night for the French fighters from prelims as well who pulled out fantastic victories in featherweight William Gomis and lightweights Fares Ziam and Benoit Saint-Denis, and middleweight Nassourdine Imavov.

Imavov sent the crowd on their feet by showcasing his range of vast arsenal and earning the win over an unrelenting Joaquin Buckley in a back-and-forth entertaining fight. Featherweight contender Gomis earned a decision win over Jarno Errens in the main card before Ziam did the same against Michal Figlak on the preliminary card.

Roman Kopylov claimed a third-round TKO win over Alessio Di Chirico in a middleweight bout after Nathaniel Wood defeated the rising contender Charles Jourdain via unanimous decision in the featherweight bout that opened the main card.

In the preliminary card, Nasrat Haqparast earned a decision win against John Makdessi in a light heavyweight bout, while the rest of the fighters – Stephanie Egger, Cristian Quinonez and Abus Magomedov claimed stoppage wins in their respective bouts.
