UFC 288 turned out to be an extremely memorable event for Aljamain Sterling, who emerged victorious over a dangerous opponent in Herny Cejudo. However, during his recent post-fight interview, Aljo had his priorities somewhere else as he stated his wish to launch his very own rum brand. Sterling also wished about contacting Conor McGregor for it, as ‘Notorious’ has good experience with the same.
Aljamain Sterling, after his victory over Henry Cejudo in UFC 288, addressed the media about the potential venture and added, “I would like to talk to Conor about pursuing my own rum career with my own drink…I’m looking to still launch my own line. I got some stuff lined up. Some designs, some things like that in the works.”
Sterling is looking forward to consulting Conor as he already has experience with his whiskey line Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey. Conor McGregor launched it in 2018 and has made commendable sales since its launch. The Irish whiskey is currently available in various countries such as USA, UK, and Australia.

Sterling also praised Conor for his achievements. He even acknowledged him as a pioneer of the sport in a very respectful and appreciative way. Sterling said, “I do appreciate the words from Conor. I like watching his fight, he’s a pioneer of the sport. If you can’t respect that guy I don’t know what to tell you…. what he’s done and accomplished is hard to ignore”
When does Aljamain Sterling fight next?
Aljamian in the same interview said that someday or the other the current path he is on (UFC) would come to an end. So, he wants to set himself up for the days to come by launching his own rum brand. “Life is about creating new adventures and things like that. Eventually, this door [UFC career] is gonna close, I wanna make sure I set myself up.”
The Funk Master, who just had his third Bantamweight title defense against Cejudo at UFC 288, had some very harsh words for Triple C after the bout. Sterling now holds an even more impressive record of 23-3. Sterling has successfully defeated the last 9 opponents he has fought against.
Aljamain Sterling decided to call out his potential future opponent Sean O’Malley in his post-fight Octagon interview. O’Malley himself was looking for a chance at the Bantamweight title. The date is not yet finalized as of now. However, UFC President Dana White revealed that the fight is being targeted for UFC 292 in August.
In the following fight, the Funkmaster will have to defend his crown for the fourth time to continue his reign over the bantamweight division after his streak of three successful title defenses. Would Aljamain Sterling be able to defend his title once again successfully? Let us know in the comments down below.
