Amanda Nunes, the UFC women’s bantamweight and featherweight champ, is expecting her second child along with her wife Nina Nunes. Both Nina and Amanda shared the news on their social media platforms. The couple already has a daughter, Raegan Ann Nunes. The couple seems very excited to welcome their second child and they already have a name picked out, Hazel Ann Nunes.
Nina Nunes fought Cynthia Calvillo in August 2022 and emerged victorious via a split decision. However, she retired after winning the contest and announced that she wanted to expand her family with the UFC double champion. At the time, both Amanda and her daughter Raegan were present inside the Octagon to see her fight one last time.
Announcing the pregnancy, Nina wrote, “We can’t wait to see your little face, Hazel Ann Nunes.”

Even during the announcement of her pregnancy both Amanda and Raegan were present to support Nina. However, the couple is yet to announce when Nina is due. Without a doubt, it is an extremely happy occasion for the couple who met each other in 2012 and eventually tied the knot in 2019.
Their first child Raegan Ann was born in 2022 and after almost 3 years, they are ready to welcome the newest member of their family. Previously, Amanda called her daughter and Nina the motivation behind her will to fight.
UFC personalities congratulate Amanda Nunes and Nina Nunes
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has many members of the LGBTQIA+ community on its roster. Prominent fighters such as Raquel Pennington, Molly McCann, and former UFC women’s featherweight champ Germaine de Randamie are some of the openly gay female fighters in the UFC. Recently, male UFC flyweight fighter, Jeff Molina also came out as bisexual.
However, Amanda Nunes remains the most known openly gay fighter in the UFC due to her status as the female GOAT. With wins over the likes of Cris Cyborg and Ronda Rousey, Nunes remains the undisputed greatest female MMA artist of all time. She is also very humble despite her greatness and it has made her a fan favorite as well. After her recent announcement, many UFC personalities have congratulated her and Nina.
UFC lightweight fighter Renato Moicano, female fighter Tecia Torres, and commentator Jon Anik congratulated the couple. Other than them, Santiago Ponzinibbio, Claudia Gadelha, Ariane Lipski, Karolina Kowalkiewicz, and the “Karate Hottie” Michelle Waterson Gomez also congratulated the couple on their pregnancy.
As for her fighting career, Amanda Nunes is coming off a win against Julianna Pena at UFC 277. Although she was reportedly ready to make her comeback at UFC 285 to defend her bantamweight belt against Irene Aldana, the bout did not happen. She will now fight Julianna Pena for a third time at UFC 289 on June 10.
