The fans can call him the ‘Mystic’ Muhammad’ as Belal Muhammad correctly predicted exactly how the fight between Gilbert Burns and Khamzat Chimaev played out this past Saturday!
The most talked-about fight from UFC 273 was between Khamzat Chimaev and Gilbert Burns. And the fight did not disappoint. The pair put on one of the most outrageous brawls that the Octagon has witnessed over the years. It was even awarded the honour of ‘Fight of the Night.’
A lot of predictions about the fight were made around the assumption that Chimaev will absolutely run through the no. 2 ranked welterweight in the UFC. However, nobody could have possibly guessed the madness that took place.
But one man had the foresight to predict the proceedings of the contest with precise details. From Burns landing that heavy right hand (in the second round) to Chimaev not having the best defence against strikes to the fight going the whole distance, Belal Muhammad got everything right. He wrote on Twitter:
I think burns comes out Patient plays the calf kick game avoids the early storm I think if khamzat shoots burns will play the leg lock game to get back to his feet and then on the feet I think burns big over hands can land over khamzats straights .. I think it can go to decision

Belal Muhammad later re-tweeted the post after the fight as Khamzat Chimaev got the judges’ nod. His caption simply read, “Bully knows.”

Belal Muhammad will fight Vicente Luque at UFC Vegas 51
Belal Muhammad will have the opportunity to climb further in the rankings as he takes on Vicente Luque this weekend at UFC Vegas 51. It is a rematch of the fight which took place in 2016. In the first fight, Muhammad lost to Luque via knockout in the very first round.
However, ‘The Bully‘ has been on an absolute tear lately as he has won 8 out of his last 10 fights. He has made a significant amount of improvements throughout the last 6 years and is currently ranked at no. 5 in the 170lbs division. Belal’s last win came against Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson in December of last year.
With a win over no. 4 ranked Brazilian, it will not be surprising to see Muhammad possibly fighting Gilbert Burns in the near future. The division is currently going through a transitional phase as the old contenders repeatedly fall off the top 5. Muhammad may just be a part of the young generation that rules the top end of this weight class for the foreseeable future.
