Laura Sanko just made her commentary debut for the UFC main roster. UFC Vegas 68 will always be remembered as the event, where UFC had a female commentator for the first time on its broadcast. Although Sanko sat in the commentary booth for Dana White’s Contender Series, LFA, and Invicta, making her debut as an official UFC commentator was obviously special.
She is paving way for other female MMA personalities to try out their hand as a commentator as well! UFC fighters like Angela Hill already appeared as an analyst before. With Laura’s commentary debut, other fighters like Hill can also look to explore commentary as a career option after their time as a fighter is up. However, Laura is not there just as a token.
Congratulations @Laura_Sanko on making her debut tonight as the first female color commentator in the modern UFC era 👏

Fans who have followed her broadcasting career so far, already know her skills. Alongside the former UFC middleweight champ Michael Bisping, Sanko did a great job narrating the action. Her timing, her knowledge of the sport, and her comfort level on the mic were truly exceptional. She did not faze under the bright lights of the UFC and became an instant favorite with the fans.
UFC community reacts to Laura Sanko making her commentary debut at UFC Vegas 68
Laura Sanko has worked extremely hard to reach where she is. Sanko started as a presenter in 2014 for the first time. After commentating for several MMA companies, she has finally reached the pinnacle of the sport. Recently Sanko spoke out against the notion that she was not a deserving contender for the spot.
The 40-year-old rubbished the rumors that she had any favor from the higher-ups of The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). She even addressed the rumors about her apparent affair with the former MMA fighter and coach James Krause. Following Megan Anderson’s initial accusations, fans ran with it as a fact and made some vile comments.
It is yet unknown if it had any impact on her decade-old marriage with Nathan Sanko, But it looks like she is finally moving on from that chapter of her life and is slowly winning the fans over as well. Although some still took the opportunity to poke fun at her, others were very appreciative of her commentary skills.
Here are some reactions on the matter
Laura Sanko is a pretty good commentator

I say @laura_sanko is the best commentator since Joe Rogan and am glad she got this role! Especially after I seen that she’s fought and trains in the arts regularly. She should probably be a judge also half of them never even trained I bet! https://t.co/mif4VviKxY
