BREAKING: Cody Garbrandt Out Of His Flyweight Title Bout Against Deiveson Figueiredo

According to sources as first reported by the Combate, Cody Garbrandt is out of his title fight against Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 255. Initially scheduled to take on the newly crown Flyweight Champion, Cody Garbrandt looked set to create history by becoming one of the very few fighters to hold Championship belt across two division. However, that won’t be taking place for now with Garbrandt pulling ot of the fight due to unknown reasons.

Cody Garbrandt made his much emphatic return to the octagon at UFC 250 against UFC veteran Raphael Assuncao. Garbrandt sent a notice to the division after back to back losses by picking up a spectacular KO win in at the closing seconds of the second rounds of the fight. Garbrandt was then linked to a title shot against Petr Yan, however, everything points against Aljamain Sterling to get his chance. Be that as it may, Garbrandt shocked the fight world after he decided that he would be taking on Deiveson Figueiredo for the Flyweight title. He failed to make weight in his first title fight, however, emerged victorious via way of stoppage. In the rematch, Figueiredo put on an absolute clinic to win the UFC Flyweight Championship.

Have confirmed via sources, Cody Garbrandt is out of his 125 pound title fight against Deiveson Figueiredo on 11/21. Alex Perez will take his spot. First reported by Combate.

Deiveson Figueiredo is coming off spectacular back to back stoppage victories over UFC veteran Joseph Benavidez. Figueiredo remains undefeated inside the octagon with sole loss to Jussier Formiga. Figueiredo will now take on Alex Perez in his first title defense.
