Cain Velasquez has finally released a statement after being arrested and charged with attempted murder in February. The former UFC champion allegedly fired a 40 caliber handgun at a man named Harry Goularte Jr who was charged with molestation of his relative.
However, his shots missed Harry and struck a 64 year old person present in the truck. After the gunfire incident, the court denied bail to Velasquez. Although the former champion received a lot of support from the fans and MMA world on social media.
Almost after two months of being arrested, Velasquez has broken his silence as he took on Instagram and posted a heartfelt caption thanking his fans for their unconditional support to him and his family.

What happens to Cain Velasquez if he is convicted of his charges?
Despite receiving a lot of support from a substantial amount of people, the Santa Clara County legal community are not supporting Cain Velasquez for his actions. The district attorney made a statement saying, “The sad tragedy is that Mr. Velasquez chose to take the law into his own hands, endangering the public and everyone in the truck.”
So if the former UFC champion is convicted of his charges then he will face 20 years of prison. Velasquez will be in court today for a hearing at 4:30 pm ET.
