BREAKING: UFC Announces a Huge Main Event Fight for Max Holloway

UFC is looking to begin the 2021 season with a bang as it just announced the main event fight between Max Holloway and Calvin Kattar. The former featherweight champion will make his return on January 16th, 2021 to take on the Boston Finisher.

Holloway and Kattar are two of the best boxers in UFC and a fight between these two will be a barn burner. After two consecutive losses to the featherweight king, Alexander Volkanovski, Holloway needs to get back to the winning column in order to get another title shot.

On the other hand, Calvin Kattar is on a rampage in the division. After a close defeat to Zabit Magomedsharipov, Calvin Kattar destroyed Jeremy Stephens and Dan Ige. And now he is possibly one win away from a title shot.

Alexander Volkanovski beats Max Holloway

Though many fans believe that Max Holloway won the rematch against Alexander Volkanovski UFC needed to book a fresh matchup for Volkanovski. Brian Ortega is coming off a huge victory over The Korean Zombie and it won’t be surprising if UFC grants him a title shot next.

Conor McGregor willing to rematch Max Holloway

Besides that, UFC might book the much-anticipated fight between Zabit Magomedsharipov and Yair Rodriguez and the winner of that fight has a solid chance to fight Volkanovski. And last but not the least, Henry Cejudo is eyeing a return to fight for the featherweight gold.

Max Holloway vs Calvin Kattar is a high stake matchup in the division

Max Holloway has been away from the action since his loss to Alexander Volkanovski in the rematch. But, it must have been a much-needed break for the former champion. However, the road back to the featherweight title won’t be easy for the former champion as Kattar is a tough matchup for anyone in the division.

Calvin Kattar is one of the finest strikers in the division. His takedown defense is highly impressive. And we have seen a huge difference in his gameplan after the loss to Zabit Magomedsharipov. Though he matches fairly against Max Holloway when it comes to skillsets he does not have the experience as the former champion.

Max Holloway is still considered the greatest featherweight in UFC history by many fans. Holloway will be looking to make a statement with an impressive performance over legit threat in the division. No matter who wins this fight, fans are going to witness a war between two highly skilled mixed martial artists.
