“Can’t Wait to Put On a Show” – Michael Chandler Reacts to Officially Signing With the UFC

Michael Chandler shared his thoughts after officially signing with the UFC. Michael Chandler turned free agent after his KO win over former Champion Benson Henderson. Chandler has made a name for himself despite never stepping foot inside the UFC octagon. With notable victories against some of the most prominent names in the history of the lightweight division, Chandler will look to cement his position in the UFC ahead of his anticipated signing.

Earlier, UFC President Dana White announced that the promotion has signed Michael Chandler, and that he will serve as the backup for Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Justin Gaethje at UFC 254. Chandler’s brings a varied skill set inside the octagon with an impressive wrestling background, and lethal striking. It will be interesting to see how Chandler will fare at the UFC Lightweight division.

After reports stated that UFC is looking at Michael Chandler as a possible new opponent for Tony Ferguson, speculations were rife that fight fans were in for a super-showdown between Michael Chandler and Tony Ferguson. Be that as it may, Chandler will be making weight, going through training, and recently arrived in Abu Dhabi ahead of UFC 254.

In a recent post on Instagram, Michael Chandler shares his feelings after officially signing with the UFC. “Humbled by the opportunity. Galvanized by the road we took. Can’t wait to put on a show for you guys. To my fans, thank you for being with me on this journey. And if you just started with us…pull your hat down tight because we only know one speed! See you at the top!” Chandler stated.

Earlier, while talking to ESPN journalist Brett Okamoto, Chandler shared his feeling ahead of the signing.The former two-time Bellator Lightweight Champion stated that he is humbled by the opportunity and can’t wait to prove why he’s the best lightweight in the world. Chandler also claimed that he will prove what he has been saying for the past few years, “See you at the top” Chandler stated.

Michael Chandler is an exciting new addition to the already-packed Lightweight division. With a lot of interesting match-ups, the lightweight division has never looked better.
