Johnny Walker suffers a brutal knockout in the main event of UFC Vegas 48. The event is officially wrapped up and the night ended with a bang. Coming into this fight, Walker was ranked no. 11. While Jamahal Hill was two places below him at 12th.
Ahead of the fight, Johnny Walker spoke the evolution of his approach towards the fight game. However, the Brazilian was criticized for being too calculated and passive in style for his last fight against Thiago Santos. Hill, on the other hand, entered the octagon after securing a 48 second KO of Jimmy Crute.

And Hill continues is winning momentum as he knocked out Johnny Walker at 2:55 of the very first round. Johnny Walker started off with intent and he took the fight to Jamahal in moments of the fight. But it was not enough as the latter started gaining control of the cage after the initial seconds of the fight.
That’s a big-time KO for Jamahal Hill. Sweet dreams put Johnny Walker to sleep in the first.

Jamahal ‘Sweet Dreams’ Hill really lived up to his nickname as he finished off Johnny Walker with a massive overhand right. The finishing sequence came when Walker wanted to lunge forward with a punch but Hill swiftly slipped the shot and countered with a right hook.
Thank goodness. Because the way he crashed to the canvas backwards was scary AF. #UFCVegas48 https://t.co/xRM7GwmMm9

The stoppage was a scary one as Johnny had a delayed reaction to the punches. He fell on his back after a momentary delay. The 29-year old seemingly tried to recover after hitting the mat. But Jamahal followed up with vicious ground and pound and severed Walker from consciousness.
What is next for Jamahal Hill knocking out Johnny Walker at UFC Vegas 48
This victory over Johnny Walker is bound to secure Jamahal Hill a place in the top 10 of the division. He is currently on a 2 fight win streak and both of them came via first-round KO. Hill now improves his career record to 10-1-0. But what comes next for the Chicago native?
This one is for the fans ????

The 30-year old’s only career loss came against Paul Craig who’s sitting at no 11. Will Jamahal want to avenge that loss? Or will he focus on fighting opponents from the top 10? Fighters such as Nikita Krylov, Volkan Oezdemir are certainly possible next opponents for tonight’s victorious fighter. However, if UFC wants Hill to take the next step, Dominic Reyes ranked at 7th will be the ideal option for him.
