Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal have a long history with each other as they were teammates and best friends when they first started their careers in the UFC. However, their friendship turned into bad blood after a public dispute and both these welterweights now share extreme animosity and hatred.
Now, these two welterweights have the opportunity to settle their dispute once and for all as they step inside the octagon on March 5th to clash against each other in a five-round bout in the main event of UFC 272. As we build up to this blockbuster showdown, Stephen A Smith of ESPN engaged in a conversation with Gamebred and The Chaos.
During this interview, Stephen A Smith asked these two fighters how did things get bitter between them as they were roommates. To which Masvidal made an allegation that Covington did not pay their coach at American Top Team after his fight and that was the root cause for their heated rivalry.

It first started off with this peace of s**t not paying my coach $12,500 for a fight [when] my coach [had] coached him his whole f*****g career. Then when he had the chance to finally pay back the $12,500, he didn’t, so I went out there and paid my coach out of my own pocket. So since then, it was already. ‘I’m going to f— him up at some point.
After Masvidal accused Colby for not paying his gym fees, The Chaos finally put the allegations to bed. He’s all talk, no walk. … Dan Lambert, his [trainer], knows how much I actually got paid. That night that I made that paycheck, I got paid half of what that [commission] said [I made].

Look at him smiling can’t even keep a straight face. Everybody at American Top Team knows that and that’s why you got kicked out. You’re soon to be kicked out of this gym too cause you don’t pay your bills and you’re drowning in debt from other loan sharks,” said Masvidal.
The former welterweight title contender concluded his rant by promising to break Covington’s face when they clash at UFC 272. Do let us know in the comments section who you think will win in this grudge match between Covington and Masvidal?
