Conor McGregor, who eagerly awaited his return to the Octagon in 2024 against Michael Chandler, has been captured in an online video engaging in a confrontational moment with another MMA fighter. Despite the absence of an official fight date, McGregor has not entered the cage since his defeat to Dustin Poirier in 2021, a match in which ‘The Notorious’ endured a significant leg injury.
A video surfaced recently, featuring McGregor in a spirited face-off with former UFC Bantamweight Champion Petr Yan at the IBA Night of Champions. The footage depicts the two entering the ring and squaring off, with the IBA’s president intervening to keep them apart.
Although the prospect of a bout between them seems highly improbable, they exchanged a series of taunts when a microphone was placed between them. However, after a brief moment, the fighters burst into laughter and extended their embraces to each other.

McGregor gained attention earlier in 2023 when he attended BKFC 41, featuring the headline bout between Mike Perry and Luke Rockhold. After Perry secured a knockout victory, ‘The Notorious’ stepped into the ring and had a face-off with ‘Platinum,’ causing ripples of surprise throughout the MMA community.
While Conor often finds himself in funny situations out of nowhere, this one has seemingly topped them all, according to fight fans on social media. “Might be the most random face-off ever,” wrote a fan on X. “Wonder how much that cost the promoter?” inquired another.
One fan used humor to throw light on Conor McGregor’s desire to become the President of his country, Ireland, as they commented, “Ireland’s future president is already working on foreign relations.” Additionally, if the random face-off wasn’t enough, Conor also tried bouncing off Petr Yan, probably in an attempt to drop him.
Conor McGregor and Islam Makhachev were sitting opposite each other at the same event
Conor McGregor and Islam Makhachev coincidentally shared the same venue; their proximity was separated only by the boxing ring. ‘The Notorious’ made a splash by attending the IBA Champions Night event in Dubai recently, engaging in a spirited yet friendly face-off with former UFC Bantamweight Champion Petr Yan.
Adding an intriguing dynamic to the evening was the presence of the current UFC Lightweight Champion, seated on the opposite side of the squared circle from McGregor.

It’s worth noting that Makhachev maintains a longstanding friendship and training partnership with UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov, a prominent rival of McGregor. The situation was undeniably tense, but event organizers showed foresight by strategically placing both UFC stars on opposite sides of the venue.
